Epyr Pyrolysis systems

Epyr Pyrolysis systems 2500

Ecoproject designed Epyr technology for producing energy from biomass and pre-treated biodegradable part of municipal solid wastes.

Each Epyr 2500 Module is able to produce from 1 to 3 MW/h electricity and up to 5 MW/h heat.

Each Epyr Module system will be made up of one or several processing lines, or modules, depending on the required project capacity.

The modular design of our systems allows to multiple processing lines for unlimited expansion of the system. A multi-system comprising 2 pyrolytic modules is recommended by Ecoproject to allow quick and timely service without interrupting the conversion process and to ensure constant guaranteed energy supply to the consumers.

System's components:

Continuous feed system

Our continuous feed system starts with a shredder to be cut into small pieces (up to 50mm in diameter) and through a dryer to lower its moisture content to 15% in order to produce higher power generating results.

After this material goes throw hummer mill to be cracked into small pieces ( 2-4mm).

Pyrolysis reactor

Passing the bunker, the materials are then conveyed into a pyrolytic chamber through a specifically designed loading unit to prevent unwanted oxygen or air from entering the chamber. A pyrolytic process which applies indirect heat in an environment free of flame and oxygen is the most important stage, reducing waste to a carbon char residue and gas by subjecting it to temperatures as high as 850C. The amount of carbon residue is 2-10% of the initial feedstock mass.

Pyrolysis gas depuration system

We had developed a multi-stage pyrolysis gas depuration system. This stage removes mechanical impurities, heavy tar fractions and toxic acid components from the gas, making for an environmentally clean fuel for a gas cogenerator.

Energy generation

The energy output from cogenerator is about 60-80% and the energy potential of the gas is higher than that of the steam typically used.
